Privacy Policy
Effective 2 September 2026
Short version: the blocking runs entirely on your device. Your contacts, calls and messages are never collected, uploaded or sold, and there is no account. The free version shows advertising from Google, which is the one part that talks to anybody; Nixring Pro removes it.
1. Our approach
Nixring: Spam Call Blocker ("Nixring", "the app", "we") is built to protect your privacy by design. The entire purpose of the app is to block unwanted calls and texts without your personal information ever leaving your iPhone.
2. Information we do not collect
We want to be completely clear about what Nixring does not do:
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your contacts.
- We do not collect your call history or the phone numbers that call or text you.
- We do not read the content of your calls or messages.
- We do not use third-party data brokers, and neither the Call Directory extension nor the Message Filter extension contains any advertising or analytics code. Advertising in the free version of the app is described in section 6.
- We do not require an account, email address, or login.
3. How blocking works on-device
Nixring uses Apple's Call Directory and Message Filter extensions. Nixring provides iOS with a blocklist of known spam and scam numbers, and iOS itself performs the blocking. This all happens locally on your device inside Apple's secure system framework. The numbers that call or text you are handled by iOS and are never seen by us or sent anywhere.
4. Data stored on your device
The spam blocklist and your app settings (for example, which categories you have enabled) are stored locally on your iPhone. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app. It is never uploaded.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Nixring offers an optional auto-renewing subscription. All purchases and subscription management are handled by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Advertising in the free version
The free version of Nixring shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Google receives the technical data it needs to serve and measure an ad, which can include the Apple advertising identifier where you have allowed tracking, plus device and usage data. This is why the App Store privacy label for Nixring lists identifiers and usage data. You are asked for tracking permission before any of it happens, and you can change your answer at any time under Advertising privacy choices in the app settings or in iOS Settings.
Nixring Pro contains no advertising. In both versions the advertising code lives only in the main app: the Call Directory and Message Filter extensions contain none of it, so nothing about your calls or messages is ever available to an advertising provider.
7. Blocklist updates and this website
With Nixring Pro the app downloads one public file, blocklist.json, to refresh the spam list. Every user downloads the same file and the request carries nothing that identifies you.
The marketing pages of this website use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and clicks on the App Store link without cookies and without building a profile of you. The privacy, support and terms pages carry no measurement at all.
8. Children's privacy
Nixring does not knowingly collect information from children. The app has no account, asks for no personal details, and never reads your contacts, calls or messages. The one exception to note is the advertising in the free version, described in section 6; Nixring Pro removes it entirely.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
